The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has ordered CareCredit to refund millions of dollars for what the federal agency describes as “deceptive enrollment practices.”
CareCredit, a subsidiary of GE Capital Retail Bank, is one of the largest providers of financing to healthcare patients in the United States. The judgement by CFPB could cost CareCredit up to $34.1 million, which is to be refunded to potentially more than 1 million of its 4 million customer base nationwide.
